Supporting Statistics Research Postgraduates to Teach Quantitative Data Analysis to Postgraduate Students Without a Statistics Background

Welcome to the homepage for the training programme for "Statistical Methods for Research Students", which is the shortened version of the rather long project title you can see at top of this page. Our project is a collaboration between the Department of Statistics and Centre for Learning Enhancement And Research (CLEAR), The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

If you are here, the chances are you are CUHK Department of Statistics research postgraduate student interested in completing our project's training programme which, should you complete it, will

  • teach you what challenges students may have when learning statistics, what they want from workshops and how to design your workshop;
  • involve you recording pre-workshop videos and writing workshop materials and hosting these on our KEEP platform (https://openedx.keep.edu.hk/courses/course-v1:CUHK+Stats4RPgs+2022/about);
  • conducting your workshop in face-to-face mode to CUHK research postgraduates without a statistics background;
  • take about 35 hours of your time, for which you will receive remuneration;
  • earn you a certificate of completion jointly issued by the Department of Statistics and CLEAR.
