All computing facilities in Statistics Department are managed by the Statistical Laboratory Management Committee. Currently, our Statistical/Risk Management Science Laboratories and Graphics Workstation Laboratory are equipped with one High Performance Computing System, some UNIX Servers/Workstations including SUN and DELL PowerEdge Servers running Linux/NetWare/Windows 2003, over 150 DELL Intel Core 2 Duo / Pentium IV PCs  and some high-end HP LaserJet / Color LaserJet printers. All these machines are connected together by a 100Mbps Local Area Network. This Departmental LAN is in turn connected to the Chinese University campus ATM backbone network and then to Internet. Hence, those well-known Internet applications and services such as electronic mail, network news, remote login's, file transfers, World-Wide-Web, and other forms of interaction with the world wide community can be attained. Users of our Department LAN can also gain access to the others Departments, Centres or Institutes.
